Vans Banzai Shoe Pewter

Vault by Vans and Palm Angels founder and creative director Francesco Ragazzi team up to pay homage to skate culture. The three capsule collections of shoes represent a design approach that celebrates the freedom and individuality rooted in skate culture. From the beginning, Palm Angels has had a free spirit that adheres to no rules and celebrates the uniqueness of individuals and their own lives. Skateboarding culture has been a reference and source of inspiration for the brand since 2014, when Francesco Ragazzi took and published photos in Venice Beach, Los Angeles. The planning of the series starts with careful selection of materials, which are displayed in the Sk8-Hi VLT LX, Sk8-Mid VLT LX and Old Skool LX styles. Palm Angels reinterprets each shoe with its own unique code: red, grey, white and black, as well as reinventing Vans’ classic side stripes and the Palm Angels logo on the side of the shoe. Nostalgia appears in the collection’s visuals: old sneakers dramatically jump and move on skateboards, capturing effortless style and culture in storytelling.
