For rapper AMINÉ, that place is Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland. As the only high school in Portland, Oregon that offers vocational training, Benson Polytechnic offers courses in areas such as electrical engineering, automotive engineering, architecture, health, design and broadcasting. It was here that AMINÉ began its first foray into music. After joining the school radio station KBPS, he was quickly inspired and began to write songs, rap and record. Under the guidance of his teachers, he gradually honed himself into the songwriter he is today.
